You tied your key onto a kite
And tried to prove that you were bright
But when the lightning didn’t strike
You felt a shock from deep inside
You can have a lucky day
And laugh about it come what may
Fuck what all the haters say
They won’t turn up for it anyway
Dreaming on’s for dreamers when they’re dreaming but it’s starting to come true
You raised your creature to the sky
And tried to zap that boy to life
Kicked him when the thunder died
But then his eyes popped open wide
You can have a lucky day
And laugh about it come what may
Fuck what all the haters say
They won’t turn up for it anyway

Top-notch production and the inclusion of saxophones add so much to this wonderfully spacey record, with some resemblance to Joshua Tree-era U2, but much more shoegazey. You can also hear some beautiful male/female harmonic vocals interspersed throughout,m. Hard to pick just one favorite song, especially when everything flows together so well! Also, the instrumental tracks (Herons, Ducks) are particularly evocative. Overall an incredibly enjoyable listen on frequent rotation. Steven Freebairn

WALL's debut LP is also their last, as the band is no more - bittersweet. Experimental post-punk that works in light & shade. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 1, 2017
